Discovered at the foot of 80 Wood Street and London Wall are these two baby air vents that replicate exactly the large vents along the side of the building.
Work is due to start tomorrow on the restoration of Golden Lane Leisure Centre. The Centre contains the only public swimming pool in the City. The campaign to resist its closure led to 850 responses to the consultation which convinced the Corporation (which owns it) to invest £2.6 million on the restoration. The Heron Tower is now complete with a wall of photovoltaic cells along the south-facing facade. During building, it appeared to be incredibly ugly but now that it is complete – and particularly from this view – it is surprisingly wonderful.
