New landscape for Southwark Cathedral as bridge moves into place

A complete tranformation of the landscape of Southwark, Borough and Bankside is taking place this morning as the Thameslink bridge across Borough High Street is slowly lowered into place creating a brutal contrast between the highly engineered grey metal bridge and the mediaeval stone of the cathedral.
